WA Management are currently supporting the ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals London 2026 Presented by ACN as the event safety advisor and competent persons.

WA Management are providing a total of 22 days of support around the historic centenary competition, which runs from 28 April to 10 May:

  • 6 days pre-event
  • 8 days supervising event build safety
  • 3 days at event
  • 5 days supervising post-event take down

This support is being delivered by three members of the WA team: Commercial Lead and Managing Director William Whittaker (BSc (Hons), MSc, MILT, CMIOSH, CQP MCQI), Technical Lead and Senior SHEQ Consultant Jake Sansom (BSc (Hons), MSc, CMIOSH, PCQI, PISEP), and SHEQ Consultant Elizabeth Davis (BA (Hons), TechIOSH).

Since January, the team have attended planning meetings to ensure safety requirements are met at every stage of the project, while developing risk assessments, safety plans and policies to support the plans for the event.

During their pre-event site visits, they conducted event-specific risk assessments and consulted on the event safety best practices within each of the four venues being used. Through this, they have made sure that health and safety risks to the participants, staff and attendees are minimised while allowing the event to run smoothly.

To prepare event staff, WA have undertaken thorough checks of subcontractor risk assessments and insurances, supporting the event team in addressing issues under their remit, and delivering readiness training.

They also delivered readiness training across multiple sessions in the run-up to the Championships, presenting different potential scenarios for the staff to discuss remedial actions for.

SInce the event started, the team have been working hard to continuously support the health and safety of everyone attending the Championships. This includes making sure staff are inducted every day of the event, checking the venue multiple times a day and producing a daily report, overseeing the temporary infrastructure, all while being available to provide ad hoc advice and support throughout the entire process.

The Championships takes place across four venues – Lee Valley Velo Park and Garden Studios for training, and the Copper Box Arena and OVO Arena Wembley for the three stages of the competition.
