It was the Ryde C team once again who (unsurprisingly) won the Island’s Division One Winter League. They retained the trophy easily, being 39 points ahead of runners-up Ryde A, who were Winter League champions two years ago.

Ryde C also won the Knowles Cup – the Island’s premier knockout trophy. They are a tough, formidable team that appear to go from strength to strength.

These three players (above from left – Joe Chapman, Paul Rainford and Ryan Cates) also represented the Island in the Senior British League this past season.

Ryde A – the Island’s Winter League Runners up team (from left below) are – Mark Turner, Pat Thorley, Scott Lawson, Rob Smith.

The Island’s Division 2 champions were the experienced team, Newport Vics A – Barry Joyce, Rob Warren and John Cornforth.

The Division 3 champions were a new team, Wroxall A – Andrew Bailey, Neil Hedges, Jon Steele and Kevin Sammons, who were clear winners by 26 points.

The Isle of Wight now look forward to their annual Summer League, as well as a three day friendly tournament against Southampton West (15-17 May) and their annual Charity tournament in aid of the local Mountbatten Hospice on 6 June.
