Drumchapel Glasgow are in the box seat as they target a hat-trick of Women’s British Clubs League, Premier Division titles.
The Scottish club lead the division by two points from both Wensum and Ormesby, having enjoyed an unbeaten Weekend 1 – though they drew two out of five matches.
With a full set of fixtures at WV Active Wolverhampton this weekend, there is plenty of scope for things to change.
Drumchapel have the same quartet on duty as at the first weekend, with teenagers Ella Pashley (pictured above) and Hannah Silcock joined by Bethany O’Connell and WeiWei Liu.
Wensum have added Senior England international Jasmin Wong to their ranks, alongside Sophie Earley, Mari Baldwin and Aleksandra Titievskaja, who were all on duty last time. Earley is the highest-ranked player on duty at the event, at No 3 on the Senior Women’s list.
Ormesby, meanwhile, are unchanged, with their foursome led by Mia O’Rahilly Egan, backed up by Lara Whitton, Lowri Hurd and Rebecca Savage.
Fusion, champions in 2023, will feel they are in contention, three points off the lead, but both they and Joola Plymouth, a further point back, would need an awful lot to go in their favour if they were to pick up the title.
Only Draycott are totally out of contention, having picked up only one point, but their youthful line-up, spearheaded by Sienna Jetha, will feel they can perform better this time.
