A new Ping in the Community partnership is helping over-55s in the north west stay active through table tennis.
Table Tennis England has teamed up with the Regenerage charity and South Ribble Borough Council to launch the monthly sessions at Leyland Leisure Centre.
The launch session took place last month, organised by Keith McIntosh, a registered Ping in the Community South Ribble and Leyland Champion.
Representatives from all the partner organisations attended alongside local people who wanted to become a bit more active, including people with dementia.
“Our first Ping in the Community session was a fantastic start,” said Ann Beetham, Director of Fundraising and Corporate Sponsorships at Regenerage, formerly known as Age Concern Central Lancashire.
“It was wonderful to see people of all abilities enjoying themselves, meeting new friends and discovering how accessible and enjoyable table tennis can be.
“We look forward to building on this momentum and helping more people across South Ribble stay active, connected and well.”
