Last year’s Pride of Table Tennis Awards showed just how powerful recognition can be. Across the South West, nominations celebrated the dedication and impact of volunteers working at the heart of their clubs and communities, and for those who received awards, the effect went far beyond a single moment.
For winners such as David May of Cape Cornwall and Craig in St Austell, the awards helped raise the profile of table tennis locally, strengthen community support and inspire further growth. Media coverage, increased awareness and renewed motivation all contributed to more young people playing, stronger clubs and wider opportunities to get involved.

As nominations open once again, this is a great opportunity to build on that momentum. If you know someone in the South West who gives their time, energy and passion to table tennis, please consider nominating them. There are categories recognising a wide range of contributions, including Volunteer of the Year, Coach of the Year, Club of the Year, Young Volunteer of the Year, Official of the Year and the Level the Table Award, which celebrates work improving inclusion and access to the sport.

Recognising volunteers not only thanks the individual, but also shines a light on the positive work happening across our region and encourages others to step forward.

Let’s make sure the South West is once again well represented by celebrating the people who make table tennis happen every day.
