More than 350 volunteers helped the ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals London 2026 Presented by ACN run as smoothly as possible.

From Fan Zones to athlete services, logistics to media, spectator services to transport and from practice hall to field of play, volunteers stepped into a wide range of key roles.

They were the friendly and welcoming faces, the source of information, the calm problem-solvers behind the scenes and the energetic presence making sure athletes and spectators had a world-class experience at these landmark centenary Championships.

Some are well known in the world of table tennis, others were volunteering in our sport for the first time.

Many share the same sentiments as Bob Whittaker, who was practice hall manager, and said: “I feel I’m giving back to my sport and luckily I’m standing here next to the best players in the world. Irrespective of whether I’m doing that or watching a normal league match, I get a big kick out of playing and watching table tennis.”

Hear from Bob and some of our other volunteers in our video below.

To all our volunteers, thank you for your time, energy, unwavering commitment and dedication – you are the champions behind the Championships!

And not forgetting the Pride of Table Tennis Award winners!

Our Pride of Table Tennis Awards winners and shortlisted nominees also had their moment in the spotlight at OVO Arena Wembley.

They were invited to a special reception during the Championships, to come together, celebrate their achievements and enjoy the experience of watching England in action.
