Who can stop Drumchapel Glasgow? That is the question five other teams will be asking when the Women’s British Clubs League gets under way this weekend.
The Scottish club has won the Premier Division title at the last three editions of WBCL, and they again have a strong line-up as they look to make it four in a row.
They are led by England’s Ella Pashley and Jersey’s Hannah Silcock, both top-10 players, while Bethany O’Connell also returns from last year’s squad.
They have added to their ranks with the arrival of Aleksandra Titievskaja from Wensum, who were Drumchapel’s main challengers last season and finished in second place. She replaces WeiWei Liu.
Regardless of losing Titievskaja, Wensum still look strong, with Sophie Earley, Mari Baldwin and Lauren Spink all returning and all rated in the top 10. They also have No 11 Anna Green and No 19 Mabel Shute, for good strength in depth.
Mia O’Rahilly Egan and England World Championships squad member Alyssa Nguyen are at the forefront of the Ormesby squad, Nguyen having moved from relegated Joola Plymouth, while Topspin Fusion’s leading light is Patricia Ianau.
The two promoted clubs are Worthing and Halton. The former draft in Naomi Coker, who played in the Premier Division last season for relegated Draycott, while Halton will be led by Ewelina Sychta.
There are seven divisions in total, with more than 200 players set to be in action at WV Active Wolverhampton. See below for the programme, including all the teams and fixtures, and follow results and more at TT Leagues.
