After a three-way tie at the top of the group, Omar Wasi, from Newcastle, won the Junior Boys’ Under-19 Singles in the Ormesby Junior 2* Tournament on Saturday 20 June, with Jonti Barnes in second place and Abu Osman, from Leicestershire, in third.

Osman won the match against Wasi by 11-7 in the decider but on the countback it was Barnes’ 3-0 victory over Osman which made the difference and left Osman in the third position.

In the Junior Girls’ Under-19 Singles, it was the two Ormesby youngsters who dominated the event with Mindy Gao winning all her matches, whilst Mila Gao won her games, except when she played her sister, which was 3-0 win for Mindy.

In the Under-15 boys, the winner was Oscar Dixon from Yorkshire, who was unbeaten, with James Finn from Darlington in second place.  After losing the first game 11-8, Dixon won the next three games to clinch the title. In third place was Ormesby’s John Graham, who won all of his matches except for the top two.
