Neil Hurford, National Councillor for Oxfordshire, has been confirmed as Chair of National Council for the 2026/27 period, following the conclusion of the nomination process.

All National Councillors were invited to nominate one of their members for the position of Chair for the next 12 months. The nomination period closed at 23.59 on Sunday, 16 August.

A total of 10 valid nominations were received for Neil Hurford to continue in his role as Chair. No other nominations were received, meaning that an election was not required.

National Councillors send congratulations to Neil, together with best wishes for the year ahead and thanked him for his continued commitment and the considerable work he undertakes on behalf of the Council.
