A level 1 umpires course is being held at Rainford Table Tennis Club, St. Helens on Sunday 19th July, places can be booked online below.

The course is the entry level umpiring qualification and comprises two parts – an online learning module and online exam, followed by a practical session.

It is the first part of a journey which could lead you to officiate at major national and international events, such as the National Championships and World TT Competitions!

The practical session will take place on:

• Sunday 19th July 2026 – Rainford Table Tennis Club, Jim Bell Community Centre, St. Helens (CD 10/07/26), course fee £35.

In addition those attending the course will be invited to attend the following NW events for further training and support, with expenses paid.

Saturday 22nd & 23rd August 2026 – Liverpool Centenary Senior 4 Star at Wavertree Tennis Centre, Liverpool.

The practical sessions all take place from 10am to 4pm and will be run by Level 4 International Umpire Tom Purcell and will cover all major issues which an umpire is likely to face. These include on-court behaviour, serving and doubles.
