A level 1 umpires course is being held at Claremont Park Community Centre, Blackpool on Sunday 4th October, places can be booked online below (available shortly). Places are limited to just 12 places per course.

The course is the entry level umpiring qualification and comprises two parts – an online learning module and online exam, followed by a practical session.

It is the first part of a journey which could lead you to officiate at major national and international events, such as the National Championships and World TT Competitions!

The practical session will take place on:

• Sunday 4th October 2026 – Claremont Park Community Centre, Blackpool (CD 26/9/26)

In addition those attending the course will be invited to attend the following NW events for further training and support, with expenses paid.

Saturday 14th & 15th November 2026 – Blackpool Junior 4 Star at Blackpool Sports Centre.

The practical sessions all take place from 10am to 4pm and will be run by Level 3 National Umpire Brian Jackson and will cover all major issues, which an umpire is likely to face. These include on-court behaviour, serving and doubles.

Course Fee: £35. Premier Clubs get one refunded space per club.
