Cadet BCL is aimed at grassroots players. Eligibility for Girls’ Cadet BCL includes any girls who have already played mixed-gender Cadet and/or Junior BCL and/or Youth BCL in the same season, but excludes anyone rated in the top 30 of the Table Tennis England ratings at the time when entries close.
The pilot project came about after member consultation identified an appetite for a girls-only competition at that level, and also reflects previous insight that girls often prefer to play in a female-only environment and that a mixed environment can be a barrier to participation.
