Nick Jarvis, the former England No 1 Junior and Senior International, has joined Archway Peterborough Table Tennis Club as Head Coach leading the development of the club’s Academy and Hopes squads.

Nick, who represented England on more than 250 occasions and at his peak reached No 22 in the World, won a silver medal in the European Team Championships for England and was part of the history-making only English team to win the European Club Championships with Ormesby, alongside Denis Neale and Trevor Taylor.

Nick was Non-Playing Captain of the England Junior, Men’s and Women’s teams and brings a wealth of experience to the club and game through his vast achievements.

He is joining the club to continue development work which has seen young Archway players win several age-group Nationals gold, silver and bronze medals in recent years, as well as representing England.

He joins full-time player JiaWu Zhang the former Chinese junior national champion, who won two golds for China in the World Junior Championships, and England’s Sam Walker in the coaching team at the club.

Walker is part of the Archway team around his Bundesliga matches, World Table Tennis events programme and International duties.

A club spokesman said: “Having Nick join is incredible, based on not only his credentials as a player, coach and ambassador for success in the sport, but also his reputation speaks volumes and his commitment is so passionate. It adds so much value to the ethos and aims of the club.

“The club looks forward to the continued development for the future under the current quality team.”
