From the 2025/26 season, players from other Home Country Associations who wish to compete in Table Tennis England Compete Plus level events will need to purchase a Home Countries Upgrade.

Table Tennis England currently has a reciprocal membership arrangement in place with all Home Country Associations – including Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man. This allows eligible players with a competitive-level membership from their respective association to obtain a free reciprocal Table Tennis England membership, enabling them to enter Compete level events such as 1* tournaments and Cadet & Junior British Clubs Leagues.

Up to now, these reciprocal members have also been able to enter Compete Plus level events – such as 2*, 4*, and British Clubs Leagues – without any additional charge.

What’s Changing?

From the 2025/26 season, starting 1st August 2025, a £15 Home Countries Upgrade fee will be introduced for any reciprocal member who wishes to compete in Compete Plus level events.

This change is being introduced to ensure greater consistency across our membership structure. Players from other ITTF member federations already pay an “International Upgrade” to access these higher-tier competitions. This new £15 fee offers a fair and proportionate equivalent for Home Country players, reflecting the close working relationship between the Home Nations.

What Do You Need to Do?

If you’re a Home Country player and plan to enter Compete Plus events in the 2025/26 season:

  • You must hold a competitive-level membership with your Home Country Association (Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Jersey, Guernsey or the Isle of Man)
  • Purchase the £15 Home Countries Upgrade by contacting Table Tennis England providing proof of a competitive level home country membership via [email protected]

Key Dates

  • Renewals open: Monday 21st July 2025
  • New season begins: Friday 1st August 2025
