I am currently sat at the Derby Arena watching 40 tables being used for the Youth British Clubs League. To make a competition like this work requires a large team of staff and volunteers and a well-trained team of Technical Officials.
In the West Area we are blessed with many large sports halls that can host the biggest competitions that England has to offer.
We are constantly looking to grow our team of Technical Officials and I thought I would ask umpires here what are the benefits of becoming an umpire.

  1. Deepen Your Knowledge of the Game. You gain a thorough understanding of table tennis rules and strategies.
  2. Opportunities for Certification. You can earn national and international certifications to officiate at higher levels.
  3. Travel for Tournaments. Umpiring can take you to local, national, and even international competitions.
  4. Networking in the Table Tennis Community. Meet players, coaches, and fellow officials who share your passion.
  5. Personal Development. Improve skills like focus, quick decision-making, and conflict resolution.
If you fancy becoming and umpire for any of the above reasons we have a series of umpire courses available in the West Area with them planned in Albrighton ,Wolverhampton and Bromsgrove.
