News, Information, Good Practice, Events and Courses from across the South West this May

Not only has there been great success for volunteers at the Pride Awards, and our players at the table, the South West Table Tennis Community is growing faster than the national picture.

Table Tennis England (all) Memberships across the South West has grown at twice the national average (8% year on year).

Under 19’s membership growth across the South West is at 24% where the national average is 11%.

The significant Table Tennis Growth across the South West is a testament to all of the hard work, innovation and collaboration of volunteers and coaches from across the area.

We move so quickly from reflection to planning which is such an important function within any organisation. The benefits including prioritising time and resources, ensuring that everyone is pulling in the same direction and not least breaking up projects into manageable pieces.I know that many volunteers and clubs are looking to the future, whether that’s summer leagues or preparing for next season and beyond.

Stroud Table Tennis League – Coaches

Last night (Monday 19th May), I attended the Stroud League Coaches network. It was great to hear about all of the Table Tennis Development across the area. The League hosted a Level 1 Coaching Course over the weekend where 16 aspiring coaches attended, 5 from the local area. On the course were 3 young coaches as you can attend if you are over 16.

Special thanks to Cliff Jordan and Nailworth Phoenix TTC for hosting the course and for Kate for being such an inspiring and talent tutor. The feedback has been extremely positive.

St Austell Ultra League for adults with a learning disabilibity and a love of Table Tennis
