I mentioned in my February blog that I looked forward to sharing future opportunities with everyone in the East area over the coming months and as such, the time has come to share one of these opportunities.
I’m delighted to announce that after months of hard work, a new Ping Pong Parlour has opened at the Howard Centre in Welwyn Garden City (please see the full article below for further details).
The parlour (a current 3 table venue) will be open in line with the shopping centres opening hours (Mon-Sat, 9am to 5.30pm, Sun and Bank Holidays 10am to 4pm) and represents a significant opportunity to grow table tennis interest and participation in the immediate surrounding area.
To help support this area of work, a meeting was recently held in early May with the centre management and the Hertfordshire County Table Tennis Association, with useful and valuable input from the Herts Sport Partnership, around the wider community groups that could be engaged in using the facility.
I look forward to working with all parties concerned on this moving forwards to ensure we can get more people in the immediate area around Welwyn Garden City playing table tennis. If anybody has any questions regarding the parlour, please feel free to get in touch with me.
Yours in Table Tennis
Chris
