Brotherhood J’s dynamic young female duo, Ruby Gallagher and Lucy Carvell, took the honours in their side’s match against high-flying Windsor Buzzards in Division Two of the Clacton League, sponsored by the Chigwell Window Centre.

Gallagher (pictured above, photo by Gavin Price) stayed undefeated and Carvell took an impressive couple to earn their side an unexpected share of the spoils.

Gallagher’s high-class hat-trick included wins over Dave Martin, Andy Foster and Ray Chillingworth, the latter a hard-fought 11-7 in the fifth success, whilst Carvell excelled to beat Martin in four and Chillingworth in five, and was only denied her maximum by Foster who edged their match 11-9 in the decider.

It also finished all-square in the Windsor Harriers v Lawford fixture. Richard Spence and Charlie Denholm picked up a pair apiece for Lawford, whilst Windsor’s Matt Thomas celebrated with a first win at this level.

Andy Hart and Tom Wilkin remained unbeaten in Nomads Jaguars’ 8-2 success over a two-player Brotherhood D, Wilkin defeating Fred Gallone 11-6 in the decider in the only match which went the distance.

Brotherhood H were forced to field a reserve against Nomads Tigers and it was little surprise the Tigers emerged victorious 8-2. Chris Petrou recorded a hat-trick for the winners, while there were two each for Sam Watling and Alex Baldock, as there was for Brotherhood’s Jack Hillier.

Brotherhood K head the embryonic Division Three table after their 8-2 success over Windsor Magpies, Ben Bryden remaining unbeaten. The Magpies were hampered when Dave Sweetland suffered a fall and was forced to concede his final two matches.

Three for Peter Aumord, and two each for Graham Bunce and Allen Denyer, gave Windsor Kestrels an 8-2 win over Holland Bouncing Bombers, although it was a tight 11-7 in the fifth for Aumord against Peter Evans and an even tighter 13-11 in the fifth for Denyer against Brian Hill. Evans picked up the Bombers’ two points.

And there was another 8-2 result, this time for Windsor Seagulls against Nomads Ocelots, Ferdy Rodriguez undefeated, with Nigel Rolph and Josh Court each winning two. For the Ocelots, Eric Lemke, on his return to the Clacton League, beat Rolph while Hazel Blanche beat Court.

Mike Wellum, Doug Green and Anne Bonny of Nomads Leopards proved too good for Brotherhood E, winning 10-0. Bonny defeated Tony Edmonds 11-5 in the fifth in the closest of the matches.

It was also 10-0 for Walton C against Holland Lancasters, Lynette Sparks, Adrian Sexton and Deborah Pallett recording trebles, with Sexton & Pallett taking the doubles 11-6 in the decider against James Horsler & Tom Collins.

In Division One, Brotherhood A maintained their 100% record with a second 10-0 victory of the season, this time over a weakened Brotherhood B, Kevin Gowlett, Gracie Edwards and Dan Young the successful trio.

Gill Locke, Greg Green and Denes Somodi of Nomads Panthers were 10-0 victors against Brotherhood C. The closest match of the evening saw Somodi win 11-5 in the fifth against the returning Chris Parr.

Nomads Lions were 7-3 winners against a two-player Windsor Eagles who also featured a reserve. Adam Cuthbert remained unbeaten for the Lions, defeating both John Pattrick and reserve Kelvin Olano-Harper in five. Pattrick won two singles for the Eagles and shared a fine 11-5 in the fifth doubles win with Olano-Harper against Cuthbert & Jason Lloyd.

Finally, it was also 7-3 for Windsor Hawks against Brotherhood G, Scott Campbell taking his treble. Andy Vincent won two for the Hawks but went down 11-8 in the fifth to Mark Boyland, who won a couple for Brotherhood.
