Dimitar Dimitrov (pictured above) added to his collection of WTT titles by taking gold in the Under-13 Boys’ Singles at the WTT Youth Contender Panagyurishte in Bulgaria.

The top seed in the event, he made it through the group stage with ease but was tested by Vasil Peykov of the host nation in the round of 16, coming from 2-1 down to win 3-2 (11-9, 8-11, 11-13, 11-9, 11-6).

Those turned out to be the only games he dropped in the competition as he won his next three matches 3-0, beating second seed Matei Nita of Romania in the final.

In the Under-15 Boys’ Singles, Dimitrov again did not drop any games in the grop stage, or in the first two knockout rounds.

He then ran into top seed and eventual champion Volodymyr Nevizhyn of Ukraine in the quarter-finals and was defeated in three.

Jersey’s Hannah Silcock was also playing at the competition, going out to top seed and eventual silver medallist Bianca Mei-Rosu of Romania in the last 16 of the Under-19 Women’s Singles.

She and partner Balamurugan Rajasekaran of India reached the semi-finals of the Mixed Doubles, losing 3-2 (8-11, 11-6, 8-11, 11-9, 11-4) to Uros Ninkovic & Maja Vanjo of Serbia, who won silver.
