The draws for the Mark Bates Ltd Cadet & Under-17 Nationals in Nottingham next month have been released.

Several defending champions, or those who have won titles at other age groups, will feature in the competition at the David Ross Sports Village, Nottingham, on the weekend of 7-8 March.

There will be a new winner of the Cadet Boys’ Singles as the champion from the last two years, Abraham Sellado, has stepped up.

Dimitar Dimitrov is the top seed, with Pablo Ramirez Rioja second. Third seed Oscar Nikolli is in Dimitrov’s half of the draw and fourth seed Ryan Holland is in Ramirez Rioja’s.

Soraya Rahmani-Walentynska of London Academy won the Cadet Girls’ title last season, beating Hannah Saunders from Archway Peterborough.

Both return this year but cannot meet in the final as they are both in the top half of the draw and seeded to meet in the semi-finals, with Saunders as top seed and Rahmani-Walentynska third. In the bottom half, Alyssa Nguyen is second seed and Amber Lemmon fourth.

Sellado, who won both age groups last season, only has the older group to focus on now, and is second seed behind Max Radiven. There could be a repeat of last year’s Cadet final in at the semi-final stage, with Sellado due to meet third seed Kacper Piwowar.

Radiven has fourth seed Jake Davidson in his half of the draw and, intriguingly, has two of the top four Cadets – Dimitrov and Holland – in his group.

Last year’s girls’ champion Ella Pashley has moved up to Juniors, leaving beaten finalist from 2025, Sienna Jetha, as top seed.

Jetha is seeded to meet fourth-ranked Rahmani-Walentynska, her London Academy colleague, in the semi-finals. In the bottom half, second seed Brooke Morris and third seed Catherine Lv would meet in the last four if it goes according to rankings.

The competition features singles and doubles categories in both age groups, as well as Mixed Doubles in the Under-17s. The Under-17s play on the Saturday and the Cadets on the Sunday.

In the Under-17 doubles, only half of last year’s winning combinations in the boys’ and girls’ events are returning. Max Radiven’s partner Harry Randall is no longer eligible, so he teams up with Oscar Nikolli instead – they are second seeds behind Sellado & Piwowar.

In the Girls’, Pashley having moved up to Junior means Jetha now partners Rahmani-Walentynska as she aims to keep the title – the pair are top seeds ahead of Saunders & Eva Eccles.

The Mixed will see all-new champions as Isaac Kingham & Pashley are no longer eligible. Last year’s runners-up pairing has broken up as Jetha is now playing alongside Radiven, as top seeds, while her former partner Piwowar is now with Morris and seeded second.

In the Cadet Boys, Ramirez Rioja won alongside Adam Alibhai last year, but the latter has stepped up, meaning Ramirez Rioja now partners Dimitrov. They are top seeds ahead of Nikolli & Nishil Shah.

In the Girls’ event, last year’s champions Evie Knaapen & Catherine Lv have stepped up to Under-17. The top seeds are Lemmon & Nguyen, with Assil Sarri & Rahmani-Walentynska ranked second.
