Table Tennis England and Everyone Active in Hertfordshire recently joined forces to deliver TT Activator training in a bid to upskill the local leisure workforce.

The training, held at North Herts Leisure Centre in Letchworth Garden City, was arranged to help support Everyone Active grow the sport in Hertfordshire.

An example is the potential introduction of senior table tennis sessions at the leisure centre following a Ping In The Community award made by Table Tennis England in 2024.

Everyone Active are also looking at how table tennis can become aligned with GP referral at sites in Hertfordshire and also how they can incorporate the sport into their disability provision within St Albans through their Special Olympics programme.

Chris Bryden, Area Manager (East) at Table Tennis England, said: “I would like to pass on my thanks and gratitude to both Kirsty Jones at Everyone Active and Alan Lane at Table Tennis England for their help and assistance in coordinating this opportunity.

“We have worked together with Everyone Active in Hertfordshire since 2024 and it is great that they are thinking about expanding their table tennis provision to reach new audiences in the county.

“I sincerely hope that by providing this opportunity for them, we have helped push this opportunity slightly further along the line.”
