Medallists from the Butterfly Schools Individual Finals, including champions Kai Lun Chow (pictured above) and Gianna Pang, will spearhead England’s squad at the Senior Schools International.

England have named a 24-strong selection for the event, taking place from June 27-29 in Jersey.

There will be A and B teams in all three age groups and both genders, with team events on the Friday and Saturday and individual events following on the Sunday.

Pang and Chow, who won their respective Under-13 categories at the Finals, will both feature in the Under-14 category at the international. Bronze medallists Senuli Ranasinghe, Assil Sarri and Aaron Wong will also feature in that age group.

Chloe Evans, Angad Saggu and Ryan Holland, who all won bronzes in the U16 category at the Finals, are also in the squad – Evans and Saggu in the U16 line-up and Holland in the Under-14s.

Rachel Chak Ya Li and Joseph Dennison, who both won silvers in the Under-19s at the Finals, will feature in the U18 class at the international event.

Pang, Chow and Saggu all competed at the event in the Isle of Man last year, as did fellow squad members Anna Piercey, Jonabel Taguibao, Luna Archard, Zac Greenough and Rex Wong.

As well as England and the host nation, other countries competing are Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Isle of Man and Guernsey.

Last year, England won seven of the 12 gold medals on offer, plus a host of other medals. That included clean sweeps in both the under-16 boys’ and girls’ singles, plus three gold-silver finishes in the team events.
