Norwich have been among the most successful leagues at the English Leagues Cup Competitions in recent years and they will have the chance to go for a clean sweep at this year’s finals weekend.
The holders of the JM Rose Bowl (Senior Women) and Carter Cup (Junior Boys – see picture above), Norwich will defend those titles but will also compete for the Wilmott Cup for Senior Men and the Bromfield Trophy for Junior Girls – they were runners-up in both last season.
If they successfully defend the JM Rose Bowl, that would make it four years in a row that Norwich have clinched that trophy.
A total of 30 teams will be competing for the four titles across the weekend of 5-6 July at host venue Draycott & Long Eaton, with no fewer than 17 leagues represented.
Of those to have qualified via the zonal stage for more than one competition, Wembley & Harrow are in all but the Bromfield Trophy and have two teams in the Wilmott Cup.
Bromfield Trophy holders Derby are also in three events – they miss out in the Wilmott Cup – while Birmingham, Leamington, Leicester and Reading are in two each, as are Central London, who also defend the Wilmott Cup title.
Saturday will see the JM Rose Bowl (women) and Wilmott Cup (men) played, with the Bromfield Trophy (girls) and Carter Cup (boys) on the Sunday.
The English Leagues Cup Competition is the oldest domestic competition run by Table Tennis England, with the Wilmott Cup having been first staged in 1935.
